Crop Viability Atlas 2026

A transparent regional screen for 15 crop and location questions. Compare the stored crop reference with representative climate observations, then check the field evidence that the screen cannot see.

Read the screen before you use it

The Atlas compares stored crop references with a dated regional archive summary. It does not prove that a crop will perform on your land. Seasonal water balance, GDD accumulation, frost risk, soil, drainage, water access, elevation, pests, cultivar, labor, buyers, and local economics still need separate checks.

Temperature proxy in range

The warmest-half daily-mean proxy falls inside the stored crop range. This does not test a growing season or heat events.

Climate context only

Annual rainfall, GDD, cold exposure, soil, and field water are not converted into a viability result.

Insufficient evidence

The stored inputs do not support a comparison. The Atlas does not invent a fallback.

Fifteen crop and region comparisons

Each panel keeps source observations, crop references, and AgriAuditor interpretation visible together. The values are screening context, not a field recommendation.

Method and coverage

Crop references come from the committed AgriAuditor crop snapshot and each panel shows its stored source citation. Regional values come from Copernicus ERA5-Land at the nearest 0.1° grid point to a named agricultural centroid. The climate artifact is a 2021-2023 archive summary generated from the request and aggregation recorded below, not a climate normal or station observation.

The screen evaluates only whether the warmest-half daily-mean temperature proxy falls inside the stored crop range. It displays annual rainfall, listed water context, GDD, pH, and the all-period daily-minimum 2nd-percentile context without passing or failing them. It does not calculate seasonal ETc, effective rainfall, GDD accumulation, frost risk, dormancy, cultivar, frost protection, or chilling requirements.

Request: 2021-01-01 to 2023-12-31; hourly 2m_temperature and total_precipitation; nearest 0.1° grid point; UTC. Aggregation: Daily maxima, minima, and precipitation totals from hourly values; annual precipitation average; mean of the warmest half of daily means; 2nd percentile of all-period daily minimum temperatures. Model identifier: not recorded in the source artifact.

Source: Copernicus ERA5-Land hourly time-series data. See the Copernicus CC BY licence for attribution and adapted-data requirements. Data source credit: Copernicus Climate Change Service (C3S), ERA5-Land. AgriAuditor transformed hourly values into daily and three-year summary fields. This page contains adapted data, not the raw Copernicus dataset. Read the full methodology before using the screen.
