Which insurance date do you need?

Common RMA date types
- Sales closing
- Last date to apply for or change coverage for the applicable crop program.
- Earliest planting
- Planting before this date can affect the insurance treatment under the applicable policy.
- Final planting
- Published last planting date for full coverage; late-planting and prevented-planting rules may then apply.
- Acreage reporting
- Deadline to report the insured acreage and required crop details.
- Production reporting
- Deadline for submitting production information required by the policy.

Why does the finder not display one date itself?
RMA dates are actuarial data that can vary by commodity year, state, county, commodity, insurance plan, type, practice, and sometimes subcounty. The live RMA record is safer than a copied value that may become stale or lose those conditions.
Where does USDA publish crop-insurance dates?
RMA publishes applicable actuarial information through the Actuarial Information Browser. Its Dates Map visualizes several date types by the available commodity, plan, type, practice, state, and county selections.
What happens after the final planting date?
Late-planting or prevented-planting provisions may be relevant, but the treatment depends on the policy and circumstances. Contact your crop-insurance agent before making a planting or acreage decision.
Is a deadline shown in a search result enough?
No. Check the crop year and every applicable selection in the current actuarial documents. A date for another county, practice, crop type, or plan may not apply.
